Living in Rural Nebraska and being LGBT+ is hard, but you don't have to face it by yourself.
Roots & Wings is a group meeting in Chadron, Nebraska. These meetings occur every Wednesday at 7 PM. Everyone in the group will either be LGBT+ or Questioning. By forming this group, I am adding a layer of community support to the LGBT+ community in Nebraska.

Roots & Wings is an educational support group designed for young adults. We will be meeting in Chadron, Nebraska at 7 pm for 90 minutes. The meetings will take place in the conference room at 331 Main St, which is across the street from Just Love Coffee Cafe. The building also houses a radio station and local businesses. The first meeting is October 8th. We will be learning how to navigate the difficulties of being LGBT+ in the Panhandle of Nebraska. We will share resources and make connections to other LGBT+ friendly groups where we are able to. This group will use elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Narrative Therapy, and will focus on building up strength and pride in member's identity. The group will be led by Elspeth Moon, an intern counselor that also is a member of this community.
